Decisions points are an interesting time in life. We are constantly faced with them. Small decisions, large decisions. Some just impact our day, and others might impact our life as a whole. There are times when the right answer is directly in front of us…but there are also those times when it seems to be just out of reach.
No matter the size or weight of the decision, the Word is very clear on the right process for decision making:
Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. (Psalm 37:4, 5 NKJV)
The promise: He will give you the desires of your heart.
The preface: Delight yourself in Him, trust Him, commit your way to Him.
I am not going to spend too much space here discussing the wording on desires of your heart and what exactly those are – but rather the formula involved: Delight + trust + commitment = God’s direction for your life
There is a key to every door that needs opening…and the great thing for us is we have been given the instructions on how to make that key.
Verse 5 says He shall bring it to pass….that means that whatever you are holding out for – whatever you are standing in faith for – He will ensure you make it through. And, by “through” it does not mean by the skin of your teeth – but rather, in a better position then how you went in.
No matter the decision, no matter the stage you are in, if you follow this simple formula, He will always bring you to a better road than you could possibly discover on your own.
Question: What are some practical ways you put this formula to work in your everyday life?
